An inclusive youth sports programme on Anglesey has been honoured with a top national award.
Môn Actif - the council-run leisure centre - was among the winners at the Youth Sport Trust Awards held in Telford earlier this month.
The Building Belonging category recognises inclusive schemes which use PE, sport and play to engage children and young people - especially those facing complex challenges.
Last year, the Môn Actif team delivered over 500 hours of school holiday activities, along with a growing outdoor programme that includes mountain biking, surfing, canoeing, paddleboarding and orienteering.

Barry Edwards, sports development manager, said: "This award reflects the passion, commitment and creativity of our team, our partners and the communities we serve."
"We are proud to help young people across Anglesey feel they belong - through sport, play and positive experiences that make a real difference to their lives."
A number of schemes are run by Môn Actif specially aimed at young people experiencing significant barriers in life, such as mental health issues, bereavement, trauma and substance misuse.
More than 60 people have been referred to the Medrwn a Actif Môn initiative, which provides a year's free access to leisure facilities for 11-17 year olds.

17 local clubs on Anglesey are supported by Môn Actif to develop inclusive participation schemes that help young people to move from school sport to community activity.
Weekly sessions are held as part of the Insport project led by Disability Sport Wales, along with dedicated sports camps for deaf children and those with additional learning neds (ALN).
Partnership working includes close collaboration with Canolfan Addysg y Bont in Llangefni, where pupils can attend inclusive acitivites and sports camps, supported by role models such as world and Paralympic shot put champion Sabrina Fortune.
Cllr Alun Roberts, who holds the leisure portfolio at Anglesey Council, added: "This national recognition is a proud moment for Anglesey. Môn Actif’s work demonstrates how sport and physical activity can transform lives, particularly for young people facing challenges."
"The approach reflects our wider ambitions through the council plan and (the) Môn Actif strategic plan which is to build healthier, more inclusive communities and ensure that every young person has the opportunity to feel part of their community and reach their full potential."
