North Wales Police

Police are investigating a dog attack on a lamb in the Marian-glas area.

It's believed to have occurred at sometime between last Thursday (10th September) and before 8am on Saturday morning (12th September).

Rural crime detectives said the lamb survived after the farmer checked his livestock and promptly treated the injuries.

PCSO Rhys Evans said: "We urge dog owners to keep their dogs on a lead near livestock and also ensure that boundaries to their properties are secure to stop dogs escaping from home."

"Livestock worrying can cause significant injury, suffering and stress to animals, and can have a considerable financial and emotional impact on farmers."

Anyone with information should contact the Rural Crime Team at North Wales Police on 101 or via the live web chat, quoting reference no. 26000756096.

Last month, three sheep were injured and a fourth went missing after a flock was attacked by a dog in fields near Llangristiolus.
