A Welsh mountain ewe attacked near the standing stones at Penrhos Feilw is unlikely to survive, according to police.
Police are investigating an incident in the fields alongside Plas Road which occurred between 2pm and 5pm last Thursday afternoon (8th October).
The ewe was bitten on its right hind quarter and lost a substantial amount of blood as a result.
There have been a number of suspected dog attacks on sheep in recent weeks across Anglesey, including the Marian-glas, Bodorgan and Llangristiolus areas.
North Wales Police are appealing for anyone who may have been walking along Plas Road or saw a dog attacking sheep to come forward.
They also want to hear from anyone whose dog ran off into the fields.
Anyone with information should contact the rural crime unit on 101 or via the live web chat, quoting reference no. 26000831113.
