A yacht needed help after it suffered a mechanical failure near Pwllheli harbour.
One person was on board the 10m vessel when it broke down at just before 4pm on Friday afternoon.
The RNLI's inshore lifeboat based in Pwllheli was called out to tow the yacht into the marina - the sole occupant was unharmed and no further help was needed after it was securely moored.
Trevor Jones, launch authority at RNLI Pwllheli, said: "Mechanical failures can occur unexpectedly, even on well-maintained vessels."
"On this occasion, the sailor did the right thing by seeking assistance when they were unable to make safe progress into the harbour."
"We would encourage all mariners to carry reliable means of communication, such as a VHF radio, and to ensure someone ashore is aware of their plans. If you find yourself in difficulty on the water, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
