A Penygroes woman who faked abusive messages to herself and her partner has been jailed for 22 months.
Caernarfon Crown Court heard Rebecca Jones attempted to frame her partner's ex-girlfriend by pretending to be another woman.
The 33 year-old pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.
The court heard Jones and her partner told police in March 2023 they were being harrassed and receiving multiple offensive and threatening messages each day.
His former partner was arrested, but she claimed they were malicious and that she was being framed.
Following an investigation, Jones finally admitted she had been sending the abusive messages to her partner using numerous fake social media accounts in the name of his ex-girlfriend.
Detective Constable Emily Shone of North Wales Police said: "Rebecca Jones’ behaviour had a devastating impact on the victim, causing her to be suspended from her job and feeling unable to leave her house alone."
"This experience will continue to have a lasting impact on her, but I hope the sentence provides the victim with some reassurance that it will not happen again."
Jones was sentenced to a year and 10 months in prison and banned from contacting her victim under an indefinite restraining order.
