
A man has been arrested following a two-vehicle crash near Bangor, which left a teenage girl seriously injured in hospital.
A white Volkswagen Golf collided with a black Vauxhall Corsa on the A487 Treborth Road at just after 8.30pm on Tuesday evening.
A 17 year-old girl, who was driving the Corsa, was initially taken to nearby Ysbyty Gwynedd but later airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries.
Police said several passengers were also receiving medical treatment for serious injuries, but they did not give further details.
The driver of the Golf - a 57 year-old man - was arrested on suspicion of drving unfit through drink or drugs and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was later than to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with minor injuries.
Detectives from the Roads Policing Unit have made an urgent appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Duncan Logan said: "Our investigation to establish the cause of the collision is underway."
"I am urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision and who are yet to speak to us to come forward. I am also appealing to anybody who may have dash cam footage showing the manner of driving of the white coloured VW Golf prior to the collision to contact us as soon as possible."
