An inquest into the death of a 36 year-old man who fell from Crib Goch in Eryri has been opened and adjourned.
The Caernarfon hearing was told Mr Smith, who worked as a plasterer, intended to reach the summit of Yr Wyddfa when he travelled to the national park that morning.
He was found by a search and rescue team from Llanberis following several 999 calls, but pronounced dead at the scene by an on-board doctor on the rescue helicopter.
Coroner Sarah Riley adjourned the inquest until a later date while a police investigation into Mr Smith's death continues.
