A Holyhead man who subjected his partner to a campaign of domestic abuse has been jailed.
Dwayne Thomas repeatedly attacked his former girlfriend and exerted coercive control over her.
The 33 year-old, from Henry Street, admitted attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and controlling behaviour in an intimate relationship.
Caernarfon Crown Court heard Thomas had often punched, kicked and headbutted his victim.
In one such incident, he had strangled his partner until she was unconscious, and in another, he forced a pizza cutter into her mouth.
Thomas was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison and will remain on licence for three years after his release.
He was also placed under an indefinite restraining order, which bans him from approaching or contacting his victim.
